The Colgate Initiative for 艺术, Creativity and Innovation in the Middle 校园 is not merely a rethinking of the role of the traditional arts at Colgate, but a rethinking of both our overall educational experience and the campus itself. The Middle 校园 will become the gateway to the Liberal 十大网投靠谱平台的艺术 通过连接, 放大, 重新激活这些项目, 的部门, and the buildings into a neighborhood that welcomes you through Colgate’s College Street entrance.
Within this physical and intellectual context, Colgate is developing an 创业创新 ecosystem, offering students--as well as faculty, 工作人员, and community members--a host of opportunities to bring a concept to reality, 从实践中学习, 创新探索, to take risks and grow in new ways.
Programmatically, Colgate will build on the strengths and successes of its signature 思想转化为行动 程序, developing new 程序s that connect entrepreneurship 和创新 with the arts, 教师的研究, 以及校园里的“创客”. We will also be developing 程序s that prompt students to think broadly about how they present themselves to the world: how they articulate their aspirations and tell their own stories, develop a personal brand that maps onto their guiding values, or consider how they might want to make public use of their name, 图像, 和样式. Physically, Colgate will expand its locus for entrepreneurship by supplementing the existing 共同办公中心 in downtown Hamilton with new Middle 校园 spaces. The upper floors of the Dana 艺术 Center, an iconic mid-century building 设计ed by renowned architect Paul Rudolph, will become the central hub of 创业创新 at Colgate. A renovated Dana will be a place of round-the-clock 创造力 and engagement, offering dedicated project rooms and maker-spaces, workspaces for ideation and collaboration, meeting areas for group work and “phone booths” for private conversations. 在达纳, 创业创新 will be a central part of the Middle 校园 nexus of experimentation, 设计, 数字创造, 实践探索, 和创新.

Immersive co-curricular 程序s that enable aspiring entrepreneurs to develop an idea into a real product or service. Participants are guided by seasoned entrepreneurs and supported by robust on-campus resources.

Students interested in social entrepreneurship 和创新 can make a difference using their passions by participating in 程序s like Clinton Global Initiative University and the TIA Incubator.

Student entrepreneurs who are interested in selling goods or services on campus are supported by the 校园 Venture Initiative (CVI), which provides certification to operate on campus and resources to support on-campus business activity.
